ATS Scientific previously relied on a patchwork of systems to manage their operations. Using separate platforms for CRM, field service and accounting slowed critical processes and increased costs.

Managing the parent and subsidiary companies in separate systems presented reporting and operational challenges. “Being able to switch between a company-wide perspective and a divisional one at the click of a button was critical for me, and our systems just couldn’t deliver that,” said Aleks Sobot, CEO.

This lack of integration also made it difficult for departments to collaborate effectively. Converting sales orders into packing slips and invoices took longer than necessary, and there was no seamless way to track or manage service cases.

ProjectLine implemented NetSuite to unify ATS Scientific’s multi-subsidiary operations and address their challenges with disconnected systems. NetSuite allows for both their parent company and subsidiary to be integrated into one unified platform, gaining the ability to effortlessly switch between company-wide performance and divisional-level details, a feature that Aleks described as critical.

Bringing Transparency with CRM

NetSuite’s advanced CRM features bring transparency and accountability to ATS Scientific’s sales processes. Leadership can track sales opportunities, quotes and win rates with ease. "We’ve seen a lot more accountability between sales management, myself and the sales reps," Aleks shared. "It’s easier to get the data we need from NetSuite compared to the way we used to do things".

Improving Workflows

Transitioning to NetSuite allows ATS Scientific to streamline their workflows. They can process sales orders into packing slips, invoices and related documents much faster, saving valuable time and improving daily productivity. The improved workflows also simplified reporting and made it easier for teams to share important information quickly.

Automation further streamlined their service case management, providing the ability to capture detailed data for each case, including instrument serial numbers, vendor details and customer information. This level of precision will empower their technicians to work more effectively, while providing leadership with the insights needed to make informed decisions.

Future Plans: Expanding Field Service Capabilities

ATS Scientific is planning to further enhance field service operations with tools that enable real-time updates, pricing and robust service reports. Their field service team, which operates across Canada, will benefit from accessing previous service records and customer details on the go. This is essential for maintaining their high standard of service and supporting their continued growth.

Switching to a single system has also reduced their IT costs. "With NetSuite’s browser-based platform, all we need is a secure internet connection, and we're good to go—it’s been more affordable than managing multiple systems,” states Aleks. By eliminating the need for multiple platforms and local servers, ATS Scientific cut down on licensing fees and infrastructure expenses. This move not only saved money but also simplified the management of their IT ecosystem.
